FAQS
- How often are surveys conducted?
- Surveys are conducted quarterly. Each survey takes no more than 15 minutes to complete.
- What kind of questions do surveys include?
- Questions focus on three areas. First, current trends in sales, prices, profitability, confidence, and other key business indicators. Second, what’s expected during the quarters ahead and why. Third, the trends — economic, technological, social, demographic, etc. — having the greatest effect on the printing industry’s performance and prospects. Open-ended questions that put the numbers in context are an important part of all state of the industry surveys.
- Are surveys anonymous?
- Surveys are strictly confidential but not anonymous. We must know who is participating to maximize the accuracy of data by verifying responses, clarifying inconsistencies, and correcting data-entry errors. To ensure confidentiality each panel member is assigned a unique four-digital participant code. Only that code, not the member’s name, company name, email, or other personal information, appears on any survey.
- Why build panels?
- A group of regular participants in our surveys allow us to maximize the consistency of data over time and minimize the nonresponse bias that is often a source of significant error in survey research.
- Is there a charge to join the panel?
- There is no charge to join the panel, participate in surveys, or to access reports on survey results.
