FAQS

How often are surveys conducted?
Surveys are conducted quarterly. Each survey takes no more than 15 minutes to complete.
What kind of questions do surveys include?
Questions focus on three areas. First, current trends in sales, prices, profitability, confidence, and other key business indicators. Second, what’s expected during the quarters ahead and why. Third, the trends — economic, technological, social, demographic, etc. — having the greatest effect on the printing industry’s performance and prospects. Open-ended questions that put the numbers in context are an important part of all state of the industry surveys.
Are surveys anonymous?
Surveys are strictly confidential but not anonymous. We must know who is participating to maximize the accuracy of data by verifying responses, clarifying inconsistencies, and correcting data-entry errors. To ensure confidentiality each panel member is assigned a unique four-digital participant code. Only that code, not the member’s name, company name, email, or other personal information, appears on any survey.
Why build panels?
A group of regular participants in our surveys allow us to maximize the consistency of data over time and minimize the nonresponse bias that is often a source of significant error in survey research.
Is there a charge to join the panel?
There is no charge to join the panel, participate in surveys, or to access reports on survey results.
